_____Born
in the heart of Tokyo, Japan, Hisayuki or "Q" as he likes
to
be called, always knew he was a little different from other kids around
him. While everyone else was worrying about getting into the best Universities,"Q"
was busy figuring out the drum chops of his favorite groups. In a land
of conformity this made him a bit of standout. Despite pressures to
become a part of the traditional business role that everyone wanted
him to be, he stuck with his dream of becoming the best drummer possible.
_____After graduating from High School
he enrolled in the Tokyo School of Music where he learned how to refine
his craft. After two years of intensive study, he began to play professionally
in live and studio environments. For the next five years he played with
several groups as a drummer and percussionist. He won first place in
the 2000"Groove Mast
ers"
competition, beating out over 1000 other drummers. It was then he decided
he really had what it took
to be a world class drummer, so he packed up and moved to the US to
begin studies at the world famous
Los Angeles Music Academy. In the short time he has been here he has
received many accolades
from his fellow students and faculty. He won the annual drum competition
sponsored by Rhythm
and Drum Magazine and is a sponsered artist for CANOPUS Drums.
_____Feeling
ready to begin his career, he decided to place an ad in one of the industry
periodicals to see what kind of gig he could land. As fates would have
it, Tony TerBorg came across the ad while searching for possible candidates
to fill the role of "Stickmaster" in Robert's group. After
several grueling audition sessions with the band, "Q" was
given the job and as he puts it "the chance of a lifetime"
to put his mark on the music of Robert Anthony Aviles. The summer of
2003 saw his debut with the group as he pounded the skins for the band
on their first National Tour.
